I had thought about tubes, but figured I really wanted to try having a good macro lens anyway to get the quality of light and bokeh. To know if it is really better or not I suppose I would need to compare them side by side in the same lighting condition and subject. I too am dabbling in a variety of things lately to see what really strikes me and what I might like to get better at. Thanks for stopping my Nathan :)

I have been thinking about doing some Macro myself. Why the dedicated macro lens and not use extension tubes (the route I have been thinking about)? The other thing I have been considering is a wide lens as I would like to try a little more landscape photography (something I don't do often).
