Enjoying the Moment

Merrill Osmond playing to a sold out Wembley Arena crowd. I snuck up on stage (often actually) to try and get some unique perspectives. This shot was very poorly exposed in color with the harsh lighting, but I like it a lot in black and white. To me this embodies (a bit) what must be so addicting about performing on stage.
Much like a stage entertainer, I find concert photography addicting. I enjoy every aspect of trying to capture the emotion and energy of a great concert within the confines of a single frame. I consider this a unique opportunity and particularly challenging with the varied lighting concerts have to offer. While having full access lends itself to more unique perspectives and angles, the same challenge exists no matter where you are looking from.
Thanks to the Osmonds for having me along for the ride. I am looking forward to getting this book finished and published…and then open to public scrutiny to see how well I did my job.
