This is my cute little niece finding an egg in a little family Easter Egg hunt. Though the original photo had good colors, I liked giving this one a little bit of a tinted feel.
I’m sure like many others I often wonder what life would be like if we could maintain some of the pure innocence and enjoyment at this age. There are spiritual references to “becoming like a child” of course, but my mind wandered this morning to what else being “childlike” can mean, in a positive way of course.
I searched around the ‘net and came across a post on one of the site I read regularly, ZenHabits. With my attempts to be creative, particularly with photography, I often get caught up in the procedure and forget to just explore. It’s easy to focus on camera settings, rules & approaches rather than just let that part work as best as it will and simply explore the creative. In Leo’s post he reminds us that children are naturally imaginative, curious and able to play without a worry in their minds.
It’s a good reminder to be naturally curious and find joy in the little things. We can take time later to be a responsible adult again.

Well said Jeremy. I’ve set some goals for myself this year that will hopefully help me focus less on the procedure/techniques and focus more on capturing the moment and explore more.
Also, great processing on the color.
