I’ve Had the Macro Bug Lately
Jul 29th, 2009 by jeremy
Sorry for the play on words, but it had to be done! This last few weeks I have been enthralled by some of the bugs in our garden and brought out the macro lens to capture some close ups. What I have really been reminded of is that macro photos of live subjects are hard to get! These guys just don’t want to hold still while I work at getting the depth of field right along with an interest angle and some lighting to go with it.
Between the squash bugs, hover fly and a praying mantis, this last week has given me some really interesting subjects to put in front of the camera. I hope you enjoy them almost as much as I enjoyed taking them!

These photos are so great! They are so sharp and clear! All I can saw is “Wow!”
That shot of the hover fly is one of the best macro shots I’ve ever seen. Beautiful.
