Me with Neil Diamond
May 15th, 2008 by jeremy
Tonight I had the chance to meet Neil Diamond tonight on the set of the Jonathan Ross show. Typically I don’t take time to get in a photo with a celeb I have the chance to photograph, but Neil was one of those I just had to. My father enjoyed Neil’s music and I grew up listening to it enough that I think I know more of his songs that most in my generation.
ND is on the show because he has a #1 best seller, which is quite an accomplishment at this point in his career. He shared on the show that he is officially the oldest (age-wise) artist to have a #1 billboard setter.

Oh Jeremy, what a great shot! My mom passed away last month & I’ve been thinking of her a lot. Your photo made me smile! Back in the late 70’s Neil was going to perform in Greensboro NC. My mom was a huge fan & we listened to his music a lot in my house. I told my mom to reserve that night for us to go out & have fun but she didn’t know about the concert. It was so exciting driving her there (about 45 min. from our home) & as we approached the coliseum exit she finally figured it out & that night was one of my favorite memories with my mom! Neil put on a fabulous show & had lots of interaction with the audience. I ended up loving the show as much as my mom did!
Keep the photos coming & have fun!!

Great photo, Jeremy!
I was able to see Neil in concert and to this day still listen to his music. He still sounds great and looks great, too! I couldn’t believe how good he looked when he was on American Idol a few weeks ago.
Awww Jeremy, the expression on your face looks very similar to when we get our picture with one of The Osmonds! How wonderful..
(note I didn’t use the expression “star struck” LOL)
Darlene, that is a lovely memory of your Mom, hugs to you hun

Fun picture and fun memory too! Thanks for all that you share, Jeremy! (I especially liked your picture of the London skyline!)
No offence bro…but *pout*
I remember Mom and Dad going to see Neil perform at Diamond Head when we lived in Hawai’i. I can’t recall exactly when, I think I was 7, so Jayce wasn’t even around yet.
Dad had eclectic tastes in music, and I think he shared that with all three of us.
my my, Jeremy what a good looking young man you are!!
fab picture…question is…who took it if you were that side of the camera!!??
hope to say hi to you in belfast this weekend
