Pano: Hoover Dam & Lake Mead
Apr 5th, 2010 by jeremy
This weekend I drove my family down to Phoenix for some Spring Break fun visiting extended family down there. We traveled over the Hoover Dam & of course had to stop for a few minutes to enjoy the sights. We didn’t stay long, so I didn’t get much time to explore vantage points, but I did take a few minutes to create this panoramic view from one of the look out points.
Uploaded in large size, free to use for personal use. As with any panoramic, it is much better viewed in its full detail in the original size. You can view the large size on Flickr or on my SmugMug account.

That sky is so cool! Great shot – glad you had fun!
So is this one you used your long lens and patched together a large number of frames? How many rows/columns in this panorama, if you don’t mind my asking…
@Mojo – No in this case I had kidlets all around me, so it was just a quick handheld affair. 7 shots, portrait orientation at 24mm on a full frame. If I were to have a tripod and shoot it longer lens and do a few rows the detail would have been incredible.
Love this photos – have great memories of the Dam tour!
