Peace and Tranquility

I got out one night on my vacation in Pismo Beach with a little time to enjoy the sunset and my camera. I took my tripod hoping to find a location I could emulate the low angle, long exposure style of one of my favorite Flickr contacts, xinapray.
First off, I found it very difficult to get a balance of exposure between the fading sky and the foreground. I did a little painting with light using a handheld 580EXII and manually fired along with a self-timer.
I felt like the results were so-so and a little lightroom help enhanced it a bit. It gave me further appreciation for those great exposures xinapray has of the Seattle shorelines!
Canon 40D, Sigma 10-20, 1/60 at f/4 and 400 ISO
