Photowalking Utah Video – Studio Lights
Jan 25th, 2008 by jeremy
Well, better late than never, right? I had hoped to have this video done a week ago, but that’s often how things go.
In a previous post I mentioned that a couple of weeks I participated in my second outing with the Photowalking Utah flickr group. The turnout was tremendous, and the atmosphere electric (pun intended). With flashes firing as often as a paparazzi turnout for the hottest celeb, the room was full of excited photogs both sharing and receiving knowledge.
I have my own little set of lights, albeit low budget they do the job. I wanted to soak in the event, but figured I would bring along my video camera rather than take up time of the strobes that others could be enjoying. I was quickly happy that I did. With a nod to Robert Scoble and the videos he has done with the ever popular Thomas Hawk and others on various photowalks, I present to you my video rendition of our event.
I may just make this a regular thing, creating a video of our monthly events. Let me know what you think of this and perhaps thoughts on future ones (whether to do them, and if so how to do them better). I can already see how I could grab some better footage on future walks.
Again, thanks to the organizers, Rich Legg, Ann Torrence and Bryan Jones for getting this all started. Extra thanks to those putting in the time and effort to share their studio setups and knowledge on using them. If you are in the Utah area and have interest in hanging out with a bunch of other enthusiasts, I highly recommend you check out the group and join us on future events.
