Interesting and complex what you must consider when taking a shot, but isn't that what makes digital technology so wonderful--even amateurs like myself feel inspired to try my hand in the most difficult lighting situations (not that I could capture a moment quite like you--yet).

I agree with Lisa--in this shot, you captured the essence of Merrill Osmond, the singer, not only in his posture and body language but also in the starry effect of the lighting, which seems to underscore his mood (I'm guessing you took this either during "Let Me In" or "In the Beginning" (during The Plan medley). Evocative shot. Nicely done.

Jeremy.....your photo capture of Donny---one word: INCREDIBLE!

Now, this one of Merrill--is, to me, the artist and how I have always seen Merrill since I first discovered the Osmonds in '68. He's the center...the lead singer...the one in the spotlight. Base in hand, microphone in the stand.....and, not only can you see him singing--but you can almost capture what he's singing.

You said "Most fans of course what to see more detail of their favorite artist, and some want to be so close they can count the pores on his/her face." I must be different. I like the Osmonds....okay, I love the Osmonds. But it's their music--their vocals, their on stage presence and the way they portray themselves....more than their "looks"...that I admire....so keep up the great "lighting" shots....I don't like pores, nose hairs, etc. etc. I like my memories.....and you seem to capture the Osmonds as we like to see them!

You did it again Mr. Jeremy Hall. The lighting is awesome, especially the way you've captured the rays from the lights.

I have to agree - sometimes you have to take a lot of pictures just to get the one that is perfect - been there, done that.

I agree that having full access of the venues and being able to take shots at different angles definitely gives you an advantage to taking pictures during a show, some of us which will never have that happen - but maybe one day.
