Time is Fleeting
It’s been a little while since I broke out the macro lens and captured some flower macros. A number of different flowers are in bloom right now in my wife’s flower beds and at the neighbors.

Holding on to Life
We have been battling the dandelions hard in our lawn, but they are certainly a tenacious species. I took this photo of one such pesky bugger that has been sprayed but still hangs on.
The processing that evolved on this one was surprising to me. As I tweaked various settings I took the [...]

April Showers Bring May Flowers
Our April was a wild ride of alternating snow and sun, but the flowers are beginning to be in full bloom. This is definitely the season for tulips, and I am enjoying seeing them all over flickr! I’ve never really been a big flower guy in the past, but I am [...]

I made a comment game out of it on Flickr to see who could guess. About 10 comments in calanan won bragging rights with the first correct [...]

Last Man Standing
I am happy to report that my replacement 100mm macro lens arrived yesterday, so of course I had to wander the yard (and a few neighbors’ yards) to try it out. I took a few flowers, but I had been wanting to get some detail shots of a dandelion in seed as [...]

Budding from a higher angle
When I first started taking some flower photos, I had it in my mind I needed to wait for them to be fully open to capture a worthwhile image. That view has definitely change! Though you tend to get more splendor in colors with a full flower, I find I really [...]

This particular flower, the Stargazer Lilly, always holds special attention for me because it is my sweethearts favorite flower. Not only is it a beautiful flower, but the fragrance is incredible.
This particular flower sits in the gardens just across the street from the SF Museum of Modern Art.

This morning I spent a wonderful morning walking through Shoreline Park with my bride of 14 years. I say my bride specifically in this occasion because this is where we had our wedding reception.
I found many beautiful flowers to photograph, but none as lovely as my wonderful wife.
