Great post Jeremy! I really like the way you broke it down - no wonder I like him so much, I see bits of me or what I am aspiring to be in each of those headings. I try to be at it as much as I can; I make time for it every day; everything is a potential subject, no matter how mundane indeed - the world is indeed our canvas! I've slowly begun to shed my comfort zone and I agree that the post processing is a huge part of the creative process... now only if I had the money for "great" equipment ;)

Nice write up indeed, couldn't have said it better myself!

Nice post. Interesting commentary. I, too, follow TH's blog and find his photos intriguing. I quite often find his rants anywhere from humorous to astonishing.

And, in case you care, there is a grammtical error in your post: "Lately I watch a lot less TV that I used to." "That" should be "than".

Jeremy,
Great post, I agree with what you said.

I bring this up not to make me "special" but to make a point, I have had the pleasure of shaking his hand and spending time with him and others on several photowalks in SF. One thing I observed right off the bat is his passion for photography. While others were busy making new friends he was snapping off hundreds of photos. When it was time for a beer and pizza he would take the time then to chat with everyone. He loves photography and it shows.

He is one of many that have influenced me and pushes me to new limits.

Well said, Jeremy. Truth be told, it was TH that inspired me to start my blog back in 2005. I found him through Digg with the whole PriceRitePhoto fiasco. I've been following him ever since.

Okay, interesting reading on my part - a little long, but it was interesting (and bypassed that I didn't want to get into).

Ask yourself, how often do you make time for photography? Everyday.

Do you leave the house for a walk or drive somewhere specifically for the purpose of finding interesting photographs to make?
YES when I have the time.

When is the last time you scoped out a location for perspective and timing for light so you can return at the optimal time for the “perfect” shot?
Honestly - 2 weeks ago for the baby birds in a nest above our gutter.

Are you willing to spend money and dedicated vacation time to travel for the sake of taking great photos and even meeting up with other photographers for a unique experience?

Why else take a vacation if not for taking pictures I ask......that's my whole reason for going on a vacation - is to relax taking pictures.

Some good points above and no, I don't take my photography seriously enough. I have invested in a better DIGITAL camera and lenses and yes, as you said above, I have a tendency of also not being without my camera at times. A smaller digital to carry around in my purse instead of the digital with the heavy 300 zoom lens. You never know when that moment will cease you and you ask yourself - why don't I have my camera - I've had that happen so many times.
